Medical Director
Philosophy about Patient Care
 "I
believe that in order to provide proper medical care, a physician
must know more about their patients than
just their name and vital
statistics. More and more, medical science is finding that your
activities, diet, lifestyle, environment, job, hobbies, friends, attitudes, family
and work situation, level of stress, heredity and many other factors
affect your health as much, if not more, than the things most doctors
can learn about you from the short time they can spend with you
when
they have to see dozens and dozens of patients every day. As a
practicing physician, medical educator, and former executive with a large insurance
company, I am very aware of the negative effects of managed care.
Quality
medical care is not a commodity. It takes special preparation
with a focus on your patients and their total
service experience.
Physicians need the time to get to know their patients and
to teach them about their health, how to maintain it, and how
to improve
it. Sometimes it just requires the time to listen; to be
there with
a patient. Under today’s managed care-dominated medical
system, this is not possible.
This is why
I founded Orlando Executive Health. I wanted to provide my patients
more comprehensive, thorough and
personal medical care
than today’s managed care systems let most physicians
provide patients. Orlando Executive Health is one of a few
hundred pioneering “concierge” type
practices opening up nationwide to provide modern medical
care while allowing the doctor the old-fashioned relationship
with their patients
many of us only remember.”
